School Age Care
Programs, resources, and fun kids activites!
Aviano School Age Care provides before and after school care for children who are currently enrolled in school, ages 5-12 years old. The program offers a wide range of growth and developmental activities for the children. School Age also provides full day care during summer vacation, school holidays, in-services, and breaks. You must be enrolled in the program to participate.
Eligibility
Eligibility and fees are based on total family income and working status of guardian(s).

What We Offer
School Breaks
School-Age Care offers camps during winter, spring, and summer break. Families are able to sign up for these camps through MilitaryChildCare.com
Programs & Services
School Age Care participates in both official ‘4-H’ and ‘Boys and Girls Clubs of America’ programs. This includes field trips, homework assistance, arts & crafts, science, cooking, music, cultural activities, community experiences and learning opportunities in safe environments. Youth are supervised by trained program assistants. This program is accredited through the Council of Accreditation (COA).
Hourly Drop-in Care
Available for families at a rate of $7 per hour, per child. Families may register for hourly care through their CYPBMS parent portal account.
Children participating in hourly care are not able to attend field trips or pool days.
Power Hour: Making Minutes Count
Power Hour provides youth with strategies, activities, resources, and information to create an engaging homework help experience. This tutoring program encourages members to become self-directed learners. Youth earn points for every minute they attend Power Hour and then they are allowed to use their points to buy items from our Power Hour store once a quarter.
Mental Health & Well Being
Child & Youth Behavioral Military & Family Life Consultants (CYB-MFLCs) are available every day to talk to children about issues such as school adjustment issues, daily life issues, deployments and much more. Meetings are confidential and free of charge. CYB-MFLCs can be reached through Youth Programs at 632.7575 or Area F CDC at 632.5199.
Parents’ Night/Day Out
Offered each month to all Aviano Families. The cost is $28 for the first child registered and $23 for each additional child registered. This discount is applied to the old child – meaning families still qualify if one child is registered at CDC and the other is at the AYP. Families are able to register for Parents’ Day/Night Out through their CYPBMS parent portal account.
Give Parents a Break
General Information: The Air Force Aid Society (AFAS) recognizes that Air Force families are subject to unique stresses due to the nature of military life—deployments, remote tours of duty, extended working hours, etc.Families are often separated from spouses as well as from extended family members who might otherwise offer support. In an effort to help these families, the AFAS, in cooperation with Air Force child care community, has agreed to provide funding for child care for Active Duty Air Force families under a program called “Give Parent a Break” (GPAB).
The purpose of this program is to offer eligible active duty Air Force parents a break from the stresses of parenting. Families may use this time to suit their personal needs.
Eligibility
Eligibility – Active Duty Air Force Families where a parent is feeling stress due to unique circumstances such as:
- Whose spouse is deployed, on extended TDY or a remote tour of duty
- Member has been experiencing a family crisis such as birth of a baby, serious illness of a family member, death in the family, extended illness of a family member
- Member has been required to work extensive extended shifts
- Having a child with special needs
Deadlines
In order to utilize this program, families may receive a referral from the Airman & Family Readiness Center, their squadron commander/first sergeant, a chaplain, or Family Advocacy personnel. All required forms must be completed and submitted and a reservation made with the School Age Program by noon on the Wednesday prior to the GPAB date.

Costs of Care are based on the total family income of the parents. Once calculations are made, families are placed into a category for costs based on the following formula:
Active Duty BASE Pay + % of BAH + BAS + Any special duty pay + spouses income.
