Aviano Youth Programs: PrimeTime & Teen Center
Where preteens & teens can be themselves & make new friends!
The Aviano Preteen and Teen Center, located on Area 1 in Building 116, provides a welcoming, safe, and supervised environment for youth. Our facility hosts two core programs:
- PrimeTime (Preteen Program): Serving youth ages 9–12
- Teen Center: Serving youth ages 13–18
Both PrimeTime and the Teen Center are Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) and 4-H affiliated programs. These programs provide youth with opportunities to participate in contests, competitions, scholarships, leadership development, and activities in the areas of Education & STEM, Leadership & Service, Health & Wellness, College & Career, The Arts, and Sports & Recreation. We also offer clubs focused on leadership, community service, and youth interests. Our center features modern technology and dedicated spaces for gaming, hands-on STEM projects, art and creativity, music and media, tabletop gaming, studying and homework, socializing, and more.
- Preteen Membership: $30 per month
- Teen Membership: $25 per month
- Parents interested in registering their child may visit or call the Aviano Youth Center front desk for more information.
- All membership packets must be accompanied by an up-to-date immunization record, including the most recent flu shot.
Parents, please note:
Children 13 years of age or younger, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times when being signed in/out of programs.
What We Offer
PrimeTime Preteen Program
The Aviano Preteen Programs, located on Area 1 in building 116, offers a fun and safe environment for youth ages 9-12 under the supervision of trained program assistants. The Preteen Program is a BGCA and 4-H affiliated program. These programs allow youth the chance to develop skills needed to be successful in school and everyday life while also developing leadership skills for the future.
Preteen programs offers morning camps during winter, spring and summer breaks!
Youth have the opportunity to participate in activities in the following areas: Education & STEM, Leadership & Service, Health & Wellness, College & Career, The Arts, and Sports & Recreation. Preteen Programs currently offers clubs that focus on leadership and service, preparing youth for the future and the interests of members. It offers has many amenities including, but not limited to, computers, iPads, gaming equipment, art supplies, and a snack bar.
PrimeTime Weekly Programs
Monday
Passport to Manhood Club – a targeted effort to engage young boys in discussions and activities that reinforce character, leadership and positive behavior.
S.M.A.R.T. Girls club – SMART Girls is a small-group health, fitness, prevention/education and self- esteem enhancement program designed to meet the developmental needs of girls.
Tuesday
Torch (character and leadership) Club – small-group character and leadership clubs for preteen ages.
Art Club – Explore different types of art. designed to foster creativity in young people, and give them outlets for self-expression

Teen Program
The Aviano Teen Program gives teens ages 13–18 a place to connect, have fun, explore their interests, and prepare for life beyond high school. Teens can build real-world skills, receive academic support, earn recognition for volunteer service and leadership, connect with guest speakers and community professionals, explore college and career opportunities, and help shape the Teen Center’s programs and activities. With a mix of youth-led programming, special events, leadership opportunities, and everyday opportunities to learn and grow, the Teen Program encourages teens to build confidence, independence, and meaningful connections within their community.

• Adulting & Life Skills – Hands-on opportunities to learn practical skills like cooking, budgeting, communication, organization, and other everyday responsibilities.
• Homework & Academic Support – Dedicated time and space for homework, studying, and academic success.
• Volunteer Service & Rewards – Teens can participate in community service opportunities and earn recognition and rewards for their volunteer hours and contributions.
• Teen of the Month – Monthly recognition celebrating teens who demonstrate leadership, participation, service, positive character, or contributions to the Teen Center and community.
• Guest Speakers & Career Connections – Opportunities to meet professionals, military members, community leaders, and other guest speakers to learn about careers and real-world experiences.
• College & Career Preparation – Resources and activities focused on college exploration, career readiness, resumes, interviews, financial literacy, and future planning.
• Teen Leadership – Opportunities to take on leadership roles, plan activities, lead projects, mentor younger youth, and help shape the Teen Center through Keystone and other youth-led opportunities.
• Competitions & Recognition – Opportunities to participate in BGCA competitions and recognition programs, including Military Youth of the Year (MYOY).
• Teen-Driven Programming – Teens have a voice in what happens at the Teen Center and can suggest, plan, and help lead activities based on their interests.
• Special Events & Experiences – Themed events, tournaments, camps, trips, cultural experiences, workshops, and other activities throughout the year.

Keystone Club – Teen Program
Keystone Club is a teen-led leadership and community service program that empowers members to make a direct, positive impact on base and beyond. With guidance from an adult advisor, teens collaborate to plan youth events, organize volunteer projects, and develop essential real-world skills in communication, teamwork, and project management. The club also focuses on academic success, college and career exploration, and scholarship opportunities, giving members a strong platform to build their résumés, discover their interests, and make their voices heard.

Military Youth of the Year – Teen Program
Military Youth of the Year is a Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) annual competition recognizing outstanding military-connected youth for their leadership, service, academics, and achievements.
Through the Aviano Teen Program, eligible teens ages 14–18 can compete to represent Aviano Air Base at competitions throughout Europe, with the opportunity to advance to the national competition in the United States. Winners can earn scholarship awards, including $5,000 at the state level, $10,000 at the regional level, which is renewable for up to four years, and $25,000 at the national level that is renewable for up to four years. Participants may also have opportunities to attend Teen Leadership Summits, conferences, and other leadership experiences.

Teen Center is always open to implementing clubs led by youth that accommodate teens’ interests.
Cooking Club
Through Cooking Club, teens explore the connection between nutrition and wellness while mastering hands-on kitchen skills and techniques. Members learn everything from pastry arts and cake decorating to cooking international and cultural dishes, as well as collaborating on teen-created recipes. It is a fun, delicious way to build culinary confidence, practice kitchen safety, and prepare tasty meals with friends. Meetings: Mondays, 4:30 – 5:30 PM.
Military & Life Consultants
Child & Youth Behavioral Military & Family Life Consultants (CYB-MFLCs) are available to talk to children about issues such as school adjustment issues, daily life issues, deployments and much more. Meetings are confidential and free of charge. CYB-MFLCs can be reached through Youth Programs at 632.7575, Area 1 CDC at 632.8246 or Area F CDC at 632.5199.
National Fine Arts Exhibit
The National Fine Arts Exhibit encourages artistic recognition of Club members ages 6 to 18 by displaying drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, mixed media and sculpture at local and regional exhibits. A panel of distinguished judges selects works for inclusion in the National Fine Arts Exhibit, which is displayed the ensuing year at BGCA events, including the annual National Conference.
Photography Club
Step behind the lens and master the art of visual storytelling! Photography Club gives teens hands-on experience with digital cameras, lighting, and editing tools to capture the world from their own perspective. Through creative photo challenges, guided composition techniques, and hands-on experimentation, members build an eye for detail, develop their personal portfolios, and learn to capture striking portraits, action shots, and landscapes.

Smart Teens
Smart Teens offers youth the opportunity to explore college, career, and financial skills in order to help prepare teens for their futures. Some examples of topics addressed as a part of Smart Teens include: learning about the different types of schools or careers one can pursue, budgeting, time management, study habits, maintaining a positive self-image, and maintaining healthy relationships.
